The National Cadet Corps(NCC)

National Cadet Corps the largest uniformed youth organization in the world was founded as University corps under the Indian Defense Act 1917 with the objective to train students for the Indian Army. It is formed with the National Cadet Corps act of 1948 and was raised on 15 July 1948. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis as a tri-services organization comprising the Army, Navy and Air Wings We have two NCC units one in Army and another in Navy (9 Kerala Battalion). Mary Matha Arts and Science College is one of the largest NCC units in 5 Kerala Battalion NCC Wayanad, consisting of 160 cadets including senior division and senior wing.
