The lab has advanced equipment like Digital Spectrophotometer, Electrophoresis Unit, Colorimeter, Phase-contrast microscope with photomicrography facility, Advanced trinocular stereo zoom Microscopes, Self-illuminating Microscopes, Microtome for ultra-sectioning of specimens, Plankton net for sample collection, Multi-parameter equipment for water analysis, Wet lab facilities for sample analysis, Facilities for taxonomic studies, Basic Microbiological facilities, Specimen Preservation, Water quality analysis, Snorkeling apparatus for sample collection from rivers etc. This laboratory also provides round the clock access for the students and researchers and facilities of desktop computers and printers for the different software analysis of Bioinformatics and various statistical software like SURFER, PRIMER 6, Origin, MEGA 5, CLUSTAL X and SPSS etc.
Zoology lab is well equipped with a museum. The Zoology Research Lab is attached to the Biological Techniques Lab. Museum consists of wet specimens of invertebrates, vertebrates, slides, sketetal parts etc. We have equipment for sericulture and apiculture too. Students conduct dissections of prawn, cockroach, honeybee, earthworm etc. We have various scientific instruments like Colorimeter, PH metre ,Centrifuge, Chromatographic instrument, Microtome etc. Staff & students of the College can make use of Weighing Machine to check their body weight, Sphygmomanometer to check Blood Pressure and can test their Blood groups also from Zoology Lab.
