Mary Matha Arts & Science College

Principal's Message

It is a pleasure communicating with all those who evince interest in the higher educational credentials of Mary Matha Arts Science College, Mananthavady. We have had a consistent tradition of overcoming social and geographical constraints to beat marginalization and achieve excellence. Our NAAC reaccredited status at level B++ speaks volumes of the success of the efforts we have put in to turn adversities into opportunities.
We have been trying to free the doubting young minds from their inherent fears of socio-academic backwardness and fill them with hope and dreams of scaling new heights. We believe in building confidence in the students as a means of developing critical thinking and self-realization that are essential for academic excellence. At the same time, we take care to see that the rustic and agrarian experience of our students supplement their learning outcomes to make them socially useful individuals.
Our major thrust has always been on empowerment; the empowerment of the under-privileged, of those who have been pushed onto the peripheries of society by social inequalities and cultural prejudices. We have been catering to the educational needs of the students belonging to rural, agrarian families, tribal communities and careworn families of daily wage earners. We try and equip them with the capability to face the challenges of life and choose careers that are conducive to their taste and needs.
The College has now emerged as a major centre of learning and research in the higher education arena of Wayanad. With well-qualified and committed faculty, solid administrative back-up and excellent infrastructure support, we strive to help the students overcome social constraints and move towards their goals in life. The successful and well-placed alumni of ours bear testimony to our effort in this regard. We exhort all our students and the prospective ones to make use of the resources and facilities to develop their academic, social and functional efficiency.
